This book is a collaborative project during the 2025 Brigham Young University Department of Art Summer Intensive, which involved a week long trip from Provo, UT to Portland, OR, to San Francisco, CA, to Reno, NV, and a return to Provo, UT. Taking the archaeological concept of the manuport, a natural object carried by hand which can be used to track human movement and migration, participating artists gathered a stone in Provo. Along the route, each artist left their stone in a new location and picked up a new stone in that location. This was repeated along the trip until finally the artists returned a new stone to the original location. The book contains a photographic record of these stones along with the geographic coordinates of where they were picked up and left.
